One of the highlights of my role this year is getting to lead a virtual Core Training Group. Each Thursday morning I get to connect with Grace (UIowa Athletes in Action), Grace (Twin Cities Metro), Emily (Southern Missouri). We get to connect and celebrate what God is doing as well as talk through the training content they go through each week. This week’s focus was on evangelism. This morning we talked through CoJourners and having more effective spiritual/gospel conversations with students. This is the key time of the year for Cru staff and student leaders to be sharing the gospel with new students. A couple weeks ago Grace was in a conversation with an athlete at Iowa who didn’t come from a spiritual background and was really interested in learning more. This gal prayed to receive Christ with Grace and another AIA staff and Grace is trying to set up times to help her lay a solid foundation in her walk with Jesus. More and more students are coming from no (or very little) church background, but we’re praying that many of them will encounter Jesus in a meaningful way and trust Him this year!

I've had the privilege of serving on staff with Cru for 13 years. In those 13 years I've gotten to see the Lord bring people into a relationship with Himself, see people understand the gospel message for the first time, see students decide to walk with Jesus, see people take a ton of faith steps, and see laborers raised up to reach more people with the gospel. Privilege is the best word to describe this journey! In the fall of 2016, I got to spend a month in Olomouc and Opava, Czech Republic, finding Christian students, faculty, and community members who have a vision for what God can do, helping them understand their vision, and training them to lead a Cru movement/ministry on the university campuses there! Over Thanksgiving 2017 I'm leading a team of 4 University of Iowa students to Paris, France for a 9 day missions trip. I'm excited for what God is going to do and look forward to sharing with you stories of how He is working and how you can be praying. Thanks for joining me in this adventure of how God is going to work! View more posts
